The First Tennis Tournament
It was on 23 July 1884 that the first tennis tournament was held on the grounds of Shrubland Hall. Public Event, The Courier of 23 July 1884 recorded one of the first tennis tournaments, held in the grounds of Shrubland Hall.

- First Wedding Event: John Vaughan and Jemima Bacon, Shrubland Hall 1885
- The Suffolk Show, 1902, Shrubland Hall
- National Support: The Hall was used as a convalescent home during the First World War and Second World War.
- Shrubland Park Open – Horse Race: A cross country terrain, Saturday 8th August 1961, Public Event
- National Shrubland Park Scramble : Public Event, Official Programme: 30 August 1965 – Organised by Ipswich Motor Cycle & Car Club
- Never Say Never Again: In the 1983 film, Bond is sent to Suffolk’s famous Shrubland Hall to get back into shape after failing a fitness test. During his time there he is almost killed by SPECTRE assassin named Lippe.
